The Lahiri ayanamsa is the official sidereal zodiac system of India and is widely used in Vedic astrology. It measures the precession of the equinoxes from a fixed point in the constellations, currently placing the vernal point at approximately 24° behind the tropical zodiac.

The Porphyrius house system, named after the 3rd-century philosopher Porphyry, is a quadrant system that divides the space between the angles (Ascendant, IC, Descendant, MC) into three equal parts. It is one of the oldest house systems still in use today.
