The Koch house system, developed by Walter Koch, is a quadrant system that divides houses based on the great circles through the east point and the MC. It is popular in German-speaking countries and among some modern astrologers for its focus on individual birth time accuracy.

The topocentric system calculates planetary positions relative to the observer's location on Earth's surface, rather than from Earth's center (geocentric). This results in slightly different positions, particularly for the Moon, and is preferred by some astrologers for its physical accuracy.
