CTSA™ Code of Ethics

Every CTSA agrees to uphold this Code. It is the standard the certification stands for, and it is what your clients can count on.

If a CTSA breaks it in a serious or repeated way, it can be reviewed through the appeals process, and it may lead to the suspension or loss of the title.

As a CTSA, I agree to the following.

Competence and scope

I work within what I have been trained to do, and I am honest about what astrology can and cannot offer.

I do not give medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. When a client needs that kind of help, I point them to a qualified professional.

If a client is in real distress, I know it is beyond my role. I do not act as a therapist, and I help them find proper support. Their safety comes first.

I keep learning, and I keep my skills current.

Care for the client

I give readings with kindness and care. I do not frighten anyone, and I never present a hard placement as a fixed fate.

I treat the chart as a picture of tendencies and potential, not destiny. The client always has their own free will.

I support the client's independence. I do not create dependence, and I do not push sessions they do not need.

I never take advantage of a client's trust, or of a vulnerable moment, for my own gain.

Consent and privacy

I keep what a client shares private, and I do not pass it on without their permission.

I read another person's chart only with their consent. For a child, I proceed only with a parent's or guardian's consent, and with care.

Honesty

I represent my training, my credentials, and the CTSA title honestly. I do not overstate them, and I do not promise particular outcomes.

I am clear about my fees, what a session includes, and my policies, before a client commits.

I use the CTSA title, marks, and badge only as licensed.

Respect

I treat every client with respect. I do not turn anyone away over their race, gender, orientation, religion, or background. (I may decline for a fair reason that has nothing to do with who they are, such as safety.)

I respect the client's own beliefs and background, and I do not push my views on them.

The credential

I carry myself in a way that reflects well on the CTSA title, and on astrology as a whole.
